Behavioural Advice and Therapy
Dogs are complex intelligent animals.
Sometimes they experience behavioural / psycho-social problems.
Most often this is due to the owner and dog not being in tune with each other.
Sometimes there are more deep rooted issues that stem from the dogs previous experiences and to some extent genetic history and of course breed and type of dog. Whatever the nature of your dogs 'problem' we feel confident that we can help.

About Dr Justin Armstrong

Dr Justin Armstrong has always shared his life with dogs. His grandfather and father were greyhound trainers and dog sounders therefore, he has five decades of experience with a variety of dog breeds, including German Shepherds, Border Collies, Retrievers, Jack Russells, Dutch Herders, Belgian Malinois and of course Greyhounds. Dogs have always been important in his life and over the years he has built up experience with working dogs and 'packs' (family) in particular. His working life has complimented and enhanced his dog/animal skills. For twenty years he worked as a Registered Nurse in areas such as accident and emergency, anaesthetics, medicine, cardio-thoracic surgery, elderly, psychiatric and occupational health. He left nursing to pursue an academic career and is an Environmental Scientist/Biologist (Dunelm) and a Master of Agricultural and Rural Sciences (Newcastle). In 2011, he was awarded his PhD in 'Veterinary Expertise'. This PhD was funded by DEFRA and involved 5 years of studying vets in training and in practice. He determined how vets develop and maintain their professional expertise thus Justin is considered to be an expert on veterinary surgeons and the veterinary profession. Justin is a professional researcher and has been published in the UK and internationally. He has worked with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), the British Veterinary Association (BVA) and the National Farmers Union (NFU) and was involved with key areas of veterinary practice and government policy. Now Justin is combining his practical and academic experience with dogs to offer a range of services. He is an Associate Member of the British Police and Services Canine Association.
